Pics from Mulligans Bay and Zoe Bay, Hinchinbrook Island

Some photos from days one and two....

On the first night we sat around and listened to the rugby/football/some sport or other on the radio. It was fun! The boys were all into it, and I got to sit back and take photos of massive butterflies. These things were everywhere. They landed on our helmets on the whitewater rafting trip. Mad! We had an amazing trifle for dessert. Worth noting. Still can't believe we could be so far from civilisation with no refrigeration for 7 days and still eat like kings.
First morning waking up on the beach. View from inside the tent.

The boats - that's ours in the foreground

Tim eating breakfast just before we set off again for the day. PS camping on the beach is the best thing ever.

The 'yet-to-be-named' monitor lizard. He was a big bugger! All sleepy in the sun.  He was about 10 metres from our tent at Zoe Bay. Apparently he's unique to Hinchinbrook Island.

Zoe Falls. Lots of fish about half a foot long very interested in us yummy humans. Apparently they will nibble on your toes if you stand still long enough.

Yummy rock pools at the top of the falls

Two dodgy looking waterfall pool dwellers

Over there on the other side of the bay from where we were camped is the home of a very large crocodile. Tim went for a run over there. And ran back very quickly.

The boats. Our camp site at Zoe Bay was just in the bush a bit.

The creek at Zoe Bay that we paddled in and out of. This creek has no crocodile (that we know of). We collected our water from here.
