3-2. And Tim still buys dinner.

Day 26. 5/10/11: Hawker to... Hawker.

Meh, the heel's still iffy, but a bit better. We're still in Hawker, making use of power and hot showers. Expecting my achilles to take a few days/ a week or so to heal, Tim is going to run for the team tomorrow. He'll do a solo run with me as van driving support person. Not being able to run is having an affect on both our moods, so I hope getting Tim back out there shifts that back to the positive for both of us. If I miss a week of running (approximately from here to Quorn), I can always come back and finish that bit later. So that's a good decision, I think.

That's about all from today. It's been another of study, deep breathing (the camp site is half-full of noisy, brash tossers who constantly yell at their children for no reason I can fathom. The other half seems nice though!) and some good fresh food for dinner (yay broccoli!)

After the writing of this blog entry, Tim and LIly decided to take on fate and go against "what had been written." We played pool, which Tim won with ease, giving Lily two games, which convinced Lily to let him win two to make it even, then he snuck in a third victory while a weird little tacker was trying to chalk Lily's cue. (That isn't a pun or play on words or anything. He seriously was just so desperate to be involved that he sat, still wearing his bike helmet, saying "Bang" whenever either of us played a shot, holding the chalk and waiting for us to require some chalking.) Eventually his older brother turned up and whispered at him through a half opened door, as if he was embarrassed to have let him get out again.

To escape the joys of caravan park politics, we headed for the pub. On the menu for vegetarians was, of course, just the menu itself. No actual food. Lily loves chips, though, and dressed with a side of spanish onion and a bit of lettuce, she simply asks for a bottle of shiraz and is entirely satisfied. Tim had carbonara.

After dinner, Lily had a lovely chat with mama et papa and sends them both even more love and hugs and stuff than she left them with before.

And now, well, it's now. So. We're finally up to date. I feel like CNNNN.
